You know how all these perch being caught up at rockport are just full of eggs? Well, when i was a kid my pop convinced me that the best part of a perch was the egg sac. just pop it out through a slit in the belly and fry it up with the fillets. add a little tartar sauce and voila.....tasty.

i know, i know, i'm odd. i just enjoy all things fishy[crazy]

That doesn't sound so wierd. We actually have a thread for that type of recipe if you would like to submit some.

O.K. so I'm not the only wierd one around here.....(seriously T.D. I've heard about you're reputation).[Wink][Tongue]

I am intrigued with the idea of using roe sacs as bait later in the year for some tasty whiskered kitties. Does that work in any body of water or just in those lakes with perch being the prevelent prey species? Do you treat the roe sac with salt or anything to toughen them up or do you just freeze them and be careful on your cast?

This is quite a quandry....do I dine on small yummy morsels now or save them in hopes of dining on larger yummier catfish fillets later??? Oh the humanity.....[laugh]

Those were some of the best morsels that could be placed on a plate. Yummy for the tummy.

I'm hoping to make a trip up north to try and score some around spawning season this year.[cool]
