I used this glorious day away from Granite High to hit a few local waters. I wanted to go to Jordanelle, but my little old ice auger's blades were chiped to heck.
I started out at willow around 10. Denada for about two hours. Man-o-man that place sucked today! Tried flys, worms, worms&mellows, powerbait and about every stinking lure I have. Not one bite.
So I made a run to a local stream. Sorry folks, not sayin any names. First hole I fished got a very decent 16" female brown. She took a #2 blue fox brown trout patern. That little girl was one healhty fish! Went up higher to another decent run and 4 more browns, all around 12" or so. Went up even higher and nothin. It looks like I've still got a few healthy runs, but their few and far between.
About 4 I went up north to another creek. Fished down one stretch and snagged a sucker for bait in about two months. Had one little bow roll on the lure, but he didn't take good enough. Fished one more hole then called it good.
All in all it was the best brown day I've had in a while. And to think I was just going for tiny little bluegills to begin with...
