[black]Fishing on Bear Lake has been pretty slow for those few that have been able to get out on the lake. The warm temps that moved in from the south have opened up most of the south end besides the Pump House area which has too much ice to get to by boat and not enough to get out on. The Rock Pile is also in the same boat with too much ice to get out on by boat. 1rst and 2nd points are both open and accessible for fishing. Cisco Beach and the Eden Deltas are also open access.[/black]

Cisco Beach ramp is open and accessible. Also, they have plowed a ramp down at Rendevous Beach. Make sure to pay your entry fees before going into any of the parks.

Anglers have reported trolling off of the South West end as being just "Fair". Those fishing off of the East side have reported mixed reports with jigging being the most successful tactic.

Fishing should be a little slow for the month of March but everyone get geared up for the first of April when the Bear Lake Sculpin start running. This is a great time of year to catch some nice sized fish as well as good numbers.

If anyone gets out on the big blue pond I would really appreciate some info on not only the fishing but more importantly the access to and from your fishing holes. Please remember that even though the lake has a lot of open water there is still a lot of ice floating around out there so make sure not to go too fast, it isn't a good time of year to test out your safety equipment!

I am hoping to be fishing BL this weekend. Don't really care if I catch any or not. It has been a long time since I have been out.

Talked to some weekend neighbor friends that have been launching off cisco and trolling 1st and 2nd points and doing pretty well for cutt's.

I may get up the nerve and launch next weekend as well. I dug my boat out last weekend (4 feet plus of snow) and checked all my gear. My fear is the hidden ice sheets under the water and the fact that my boat beam is rather narrow. If I do launch I plan to stay tight to the East shore in hopes of a white or a cruiser bye cutt. Maybe I can practice my downrigger abilities while the fishing may be slow and do some structure research on the finder and plot some locations on the GPS while I am at it.
