I am wanting to take my boat out and am iching to go but Im not sure how far the open water goes. I have heard some day's that the lucerne marina is freezing then other day's it's open.... All I know is it's time for all of us to do our part and go out and catch some lake Trout before they eat up everything. If anyone know's how far up the lake is open please advice...I am thinking if it's possible I might want to get out this weekend or next.
Thank's for the help

I will only tell you if you keep the one's under 28'' I watched and turned in a guy monday that had kept 3 over 28'' hope thay hang him.these lake trout are hard on the koke's but thay are allso hard on the bow's think about how old these lake trout lot older than me and I hate to see every one come and kill the big one's I think thay need to up the slot too 30'' that would help becose every one around 30'' I have kept have been full of them small 10-12''kokes but that is just my thought.I allso love to fish for koke in may throw sep. I have one in the freezer that is 6.6lb should be a new record but Iam not Ray Johnson so I could care less.ok yes you can launch at lucerne but the Ice is patch so be carefull the ice is hard on them boat's sheep creek is a no and so is anvil.hope that has helped sorry about puting in my 2cent's catch and cook all the pup's FISHLEY.........[cool]

I couldnt agree more fishley. I dont understand why people would want to keep a mack over 28 inches, in my opinion they are not that good to eat. But the pups in the 5 lb range, now that is table fare!!! Last time i went up there i kept my limit and had great fish for dinner for awhile. It wouldnt hurt my feelings if they moved the slot up to 30 inches. i still wouldnt keep a 28 incher.
Fishley I am currently getting my boat gorge worthy and hopefully in a month have it ready to go. If interested we will have to hook up for some mack fishing!!!

I too hope they hang that guy... it's one thing to do our part and weed out the pup's but I couldn't agree more those big fish are older then you and me....The 38.6 pounder that I caught last year which is my biggest got put right back in the water after a quick photo and measurement. Now to the important stuff can I launch at Lucerne without doing any damage to my boat I don't want to come up if there is still patches of ice floating around....Plus how far north can you go before you run into the ice barrier...thank's for the info ashley call me and let's talk (801)818-9572 and in the infamous word's of your father DILLIGAF!!! THANX AGAIN
