Took my son, brother and a friend to the rock today for what may be my final ice trip of the year. We fished the west side and did pretty well. the perch fishn was slower than expected but we caught a bunch of trout. Had one really good one that broke my pole in half. I started pulling him in by hand and caught the rat finkie on the ice and my fish spit the booger and ran. I'm not sure but I think it may have been a big brown.
The ice was still 8.5" but the edges are getting REAL soft. We stepped through in a couple of spots. Only about 6-8" deep there.
