I'm thinking about hitting Porcupine this saturday and was wondering how the ice is. I was up there about a week ago and the ice looked OK, but it looked like the edges were getting soft. Soft edges are no problem, but is the ice still ok?

Also - does anyone know where to fish and what to fish with to get into the browns? Any info would be appreciated.

BMURR was up there recently and said that the edges were becoming quite soft, but the main lake had plenty of ice. I know he has fished up closer to the inlet and done OK for the browns. If the road is passable this is easy to access. If not, then it can be a long walk. You might want to drop him a PM to see if he has any updates on the conditions.
