Fished Rockport today, beautiful day, great scenery and lots of fish. The weather yesterday had me nervous but we decided to go anyway. Fished near the dam and caught a lot of small trout on spinn a lures and a few larger trout when we switched to bait. Turned most loose but kept enough for dinner. Had a couple young fisherman with me that caught their first fish ever and one of them was the biggest of the day. It was a good day to fish

Thanks for the report FFM2, it's always a good day when you can help a kid catch his or her first fish. Any brown trout or were all the trout rainbows? Did you see anyone trolling? WH2

] I have never been up to Rockport but it sounds like a good place to fish for some browns.

All the fish were rainbows but the object was for the youngsters to catch fish. It wouldn't have mattered if they were 1/2 lb perch or 20lb salmon. Watching the excitement of the first fish makes any trip worthwhile
