Hey there guys,
With the weather getting Summer-like, fishing conditions are starting to shape up here on the Southern California saltwater scene. Fishing at Catalina Wednesday.... no fewer than six 3/4 day boats were at the island. Tradition, Enterprise, Victory, and Freedom just to name a few.
It looks like anglers in the Long Beach/San Pedro will soon have a choice if they want a 3/4 day trip to Catalina on a daily basis.
You won't always be able to know if it's a trip to CAT but there are a few slight tip-offs.
1) The landing tells you so ! heh heh Couldn't resist
2) They already have live squid in the tank this early in the season.
3) If you're advised that a surcharge for squid may be required. (becoming more common on moo moos)
4) Bite there has picked up a couple of days with continuing good conditions.
5) Close enough to the week-end to encourage anglers to go on the week-end if the counts are good.
