Wanted to go to willard and fish from the dike for wipers, but had to be in park city at 1pm. Did my thing there and made it to rockport at about 2;15.
Saw lots of people. Not as many boaters (2) as last week but 5 times the shore fishers. There were people everywhere.
I fished the most suthern rockface from the south on the west side. When I got there, one other guy was there, had been since 10am, NADA! I walked down to where the scum line from the wind was just leaving the point. On my first cast I hung a nice one. About 12" chunky and healthy. Stayed 2 hours and caught 7 fish. All in the 12 to 14 range. None bigger than 15. It was loads of fun. All the while I was casting out I would throw sticks for the dog. It was on those pauses that I caught most fish. Always keep a semi tight line and if you feel any resistance at all set the hook. I was using a white w/ red head Super Duper. I lost the 3/16 oz on a big fish because I did not re-tie after 3 fish, Jumped right in front of me, Snapped the line with the lure in it's mouth. Lost my 1/8 oz on my last strike of the day would have been about strike 15 or so. Something just took it to the botten and broke the line on the rocks.

You have to love rockport. With all the pressure it gets it still produces at fish. But where are the perch?

Thanks for posting your report Troll, what kind of trout were you catching? How big do you think the trout was that broke your line? I've been hoping to get out to Willard myself for the last two weeks, maybe later this week if I'm lucky. WH2

They were all rainbows. No Browns. The first fish that broke me off was just a regular rainbow. I had caught 3 fish and had not retied my lure. My bad. I dont know what took the last lure. It hit deeper that the bows probably a 15 count. Then it went straight to the bottom and cut me off on the rocks. Almost all the bows jumped more than once.
