Well anyway as most of you know, the nasty wind threatened to send our Powell trip down the toilet, but old Ron was there to save the day. Here he is fixing the toilet in Riches camper. It broke so nothing would go down.

[font "Comic Sans MS"][black][size 3]Actually the problem with the toliet was a cracked flush valve. I hooked up the water to the camper and the sucker started leaking water. It was from my great winterization last fall. We ended up just putting a plug in the water supply line so we could use the water in the rest of the camper. Luckily the RV campground had a decent bathhouse and lavatory. When I got home, the first thing I did was replace the valve so the camper is ready for the next trip.[/size][/black][/font]

...and to think we only sink money into boats! BLM your recipe looks fairly simple and sounds tasty, I am going to try it on my next fish fry - hopefully if I catch something at Willard this weekend! I use something very similar: Equal parts of Bisquick and beer. ie: 1cup of each. However, one can substitute 7-UP in lieu of beer. To some extent, the different liquid used in the mix imparts a different flavor. Thanks for sharing your secret - maybe we'll see you one day on the Food Network hosting your own show. If a trip is on for this fall, I may make the trek down south.

We are heading to Powell for Stripers next Friday 4/22. If you wouldn't mind sharing some Striper tips, it would be appreciated. I've never fished for Stripers before and I know there are tons of optional techniques. I've spent over $50 on striper related lures and such just from what I've read and now I've probably got $50 worth of junk that I don't need. We will be launching at BullFrog.
If you don't mind, would you mind sharing some techniques, times of day, locations, lures, baits, etc.?

Right now the south end of the lake is more productive than the Mid Lake (Bullfrog) area. The stripers are ready to spawn and the chance at a hawg is there.
Last week, we were in Bullfrog and it was slow. We trolled JP Rigs at .5-1.0 mph with whole anchovies. This was, by far, our most productive method. We caught a few on cranks and a couple on bait night fishing but the JP rigs worked the best. Go to [/size][/black][/font][url "http://powellstripers.com/"][font "Comic Sans MS"][black][size 3]http://powellstripers.com/[/size][/black][/font][/url][font "Comic Sans MS"][black][size 3] to learn what JP rigs are and how to use them.
Take some jigs and use them when the opportunity presents itself. If you troll through a large school and there are no takers, turn around and try jigs or bait. Tip your jigs with a little bait too.
Take some submersible lights and try night fishing off the docks or tie up to the buoy fields or tire lines by the marinas. When night fishing, the 40-60 ft range is supposedly the most productive even if in deeper water. Throw out chum but don't overdo it. You want to get the fish below you to feed but not fill up on your chum.
