Despite the rain and snow, we made a run to Lucerne Saturday afternoon (about 2 pm). We trolled for kokanee with 4 lines in the water. We started with 2 diver boards and two lines with popgear and an egg sinker. We caught a few kokanee, then I decided to put a planer board on one of the lines. Immediately, we caught three kokanee in row with the planer board (in about a half an hour). It started raining harder, so we called it a day. We went back tonight after work and got into them really good. About half of the kokanee came off of the planer board. As soon as it warms up a little, it will be back to the DR. Sorry no pictures, the digital camera hasn't been working very well for few months (doesn't focus most of the time) and I would rather spend $ on fishing equipment than a new camera.

Thanks for the report Fishry, were you using any weight on the lines that had the planner boards? Would you mind sharing what setup you were using,(flasher, lure, etc), thanks. I was just thinking it must be hard to keep the planner board from coming off if there is too much weight on the line. WH2

No wieghts. Just 14 lb silverthread, low profile willow leaf popgear (kokanee trolls), and an Apex Kokanee Killer. No problems keeping the planer board on, even with fish on the end. Trolled at 1.8 mph.
