SALMON ARTIST TO APPEAR AT BROOD STOCK FLY-FISHING EXPO
CONCORD, N.H. - Noted salmon artist Arthur Taylor of Lincoln, Maine, will display his salmon-fishing artwork at New Hampshire Fish and Game's Brood Stock Salmon Fishing Expo on Saturday, May 7. Taylor will be present only at the morning session of the workshop. The expo runs from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fish and Game headquarters on Hazen Drive in Concord.
Taylor is well known for his paintings of Atlantic salmon and their environments. He created this year's limited edition Atlantic salmon print, "Joan's Release," a tribute to tournament caster Joan Salvato Wulff. An order form for the print can be downloaded from the Fish and Game website at [#0000ff]http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Fishing/fishing.htm[/#0000ff]. All net proceeds from the sale of the print support the restoration of Atlantic salmon, American shad and river herring to the Merrimack River. For more information on the print or the brood stock expo, call (603) 271-2501.
The Brood Stock Salmon Fishing Expo is a free session designed for fly-fishing anglers who want to improve their skills at catching Atlantic salmon. The workshop is sponsored jointly by Fish and Game, Trout Unlimited and Hunters Angling Supply. No pre-registration is necessary, but a 2005 New Hampshire fishing license and Atlantic salmon permit are required. Fishing licenses and permits can be purchased online at [#0000ff]http://www.nhfishandgame.com[/#0000ff].
