Mikeromain and I headed out to Willard in the rain Saturday morning and was greeted with raging winds and crazy on and off downpoors.
We both assessed the situation and the winds were so bad we almost didn't launch but alas we decided we were up for an adventure.
We decided to launch and anchor up in the marina and try from there. We fished for a while for wipers and crappie and didnt have any luck so we put some bait on the bottom for some cats. The cat fishing was quick, we landed 15-16 channels biggest being just over a pound which I am hearing is a typical cat at Willard.
We finished at 6 PM when it started to dump combination hail and rain on us. Water was running down our waders so we both got pretty drenched inside and out and it left us a bit soggy.
On the way home the weather changed for the better and the skies cleared. LOUSY! Oh well, I had a 9PM flight to catch to Los Angeles anyhow.
We did get a much needed adventure.
