[#505000]I figured I better jump on here and tell the true story of what happened at Scofield before Fishluvr and Rvanman2000 get on here and stink up the board with their dirty, filthy lies!!! [Tongue][/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]With the recent turn of warm weather the three of us, plus another friend, Bob, decided to hit the beaches of Scofield for a little troutski action, and to build a decent minnow supply. Poles, casting nets, and buckets in hand we hunkered down for a day of fishing. [/#505000]

[#505000]Shortly after arriving Fishluvr hit the mother lode. Within 10 minutes Fishluvr pulled in one of what was to be about a dozen fish in the space of about an hour and a half. Bob was doing ok but nowhere near as well as Fishluvr. Rvanman2000 was getting some bites but nothing serious, and I was busy checking my pockets and tackle box looking for the skunk that has been following me for the last few weeks. [pirate][/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]Determined not to be skunked I took the casting net and went after some minnows (those count as not being skunked right???)[cool]. About 40 minutes into fishing a decent sized fish released by Fishluvr decided he had no reason to live and wandered back to shore belly up. Feeling bad for this fish I tossed him on my stringer so I wouldn't be the only one without a fish and going hungry. [Tongue][/#505000]

[#505000]Fishluvr and Bob hit the tubes ( I was too worn out from Utah Lake earlier) and it was "Fish on" for me and Rvanman2000 after that. I caught and released a few then caught one I decided I wanted to keep so on the stringer he went. With little tube action Fishluvr and Bob wandered back to shore. After that it was "Fish on" for me and Bob.[/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]With two fish on the stringer I landed a HOG of a hen cutbow. proud of my monster trout, on the stringer she went. As I securely tethered my stringer onto the bank I noticed the minnows were really starting to dance so I went after them with a casting net. After a few hauls of minnows I looked up to see my stringer swimming away toward the depths of Scofield. [/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]Now my friends will probably tell you I did a poor job of securing my stringer, (lies lies lies!!!) however with the jealous gleam I could see in their eyes over the hog cutbow I have my suspicions I was sabotaged!![unsure][/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]My stringer did surface a few more times, once in an area close to shore (I tried to retrieve them with a casting net but failed), and then later well out into the lake for a brief moment. [/#505000]

[#505000]The evening wasn't lost though. I did manage to catch a several more. [cool][/#505000]

At least svpdgcar has learned about the importance of truth, for he did say he was getting skunked, but this talk of a monster cutbow.....I surely don't recall seeing anything largers than a 3 inch minnow on that stringer that disappeared!!![sly] If there were such a fish on, I would have expected him to swim after it and bring it back to shore. Unfortunately for Gary, we left the "A Dummies guide to anchoring your stringer securely so your fish don't swim away and make you look like a Dummy" book at home. Better luck next time [Tongue]

a quote from Gary's stringer.
"well it wasn't easy at frist everyone was going in all different directions. Then one of us had an idea that if we all flipped in one direction at the same time we might just make it. the rest is history."[shocked]

I noticed you guys across from us, I think you were there just as long as we were. Hope you did as well as we did!

It was a fun and interesting day of fishing with great company. Gary always seems to provide entertainment and I am surprised his striger of fish wasn't gone earlier what with him only barely securing it in the mud.

It was an interesting day to see the fish hit certain poles at certain times. I caught the first five fish of the day and we were all fishing within about 30 yards of each other. After my first five it slowed down a bit and it was hit and miss for everyone once Gary got the skunk off. By the way, a story Gary left out was about the first fish caught on his pole. Gary had just wandered off to talk to a guy about a horse when his fishing pole goes wild and Ryan reels in a fish while gary still had his hands "full".

It was a beautiful day with the weather finally cooperating and giving me a nice sun burn on my arms and the top of my head. Gotta love it.

[#505000]In my defense..... although I was currently occupied with the task at hand.. I was still watching my pole (the one in the water you sickos) and I was the one who yelled out for Ryan to grab it. [cool][/#505000]

[#505000]Geez re-reading that it can be taken all sorts of bad ways. I guess if it surpasses family friendly Tubedude will let us know! [unsure][/#505000]
