[laugh][laugh]... Just trying to be funny with the name of the lake. Don't ask where, if you have read my posts, you know where I've fished for Largemouth and Bluegill lately. [cool] Anyway, on to the report. Took Friday off and Leaky, Sparky and I all headed west. We got to the lake about 9ish. Started fishing right away.... Found the best thing for me was drifting worms for the gills and bass. That was pretty fun... the day went by rather fast.... I actually don't remember too much about that first day... well, I'm sure Leaky has a story. [unimpressed] But anyway, we got all set up and fished, caught several bass and bluegill the first day. Second day, got up pretty early and caught about five bass on topwaters....missed a couple more. Then I pulled out my trusty minnows and caught a couple more bass. After I didn't get any more bites on those, I went to nightcrawlers drifted and shaken every few feet to entice the bite. That actually worked pretty well and Leaky and I fished all day and caught enough bass and bluegill for a fish fry that night... he's one heck of a good cook, even though his method is simple. Tubedude, thanks for your post on getting the flesh bones out of fish, because I was able to create some thoroughly enjoyable boneless fillets with your technique. [cool] Anyway, Leaky tried to fish the outlet but had a hard time because Sparky wanted to help I spose and kept muddying up the water. Sunday, I woke up to Sparky nudging me with my shoe in his mouth. I figured ok, time to get up. Fished some of the likely spots with topwater but didn't get any until the sun started coming up. I caught one that was a cookie cutter bass and then one really nice fish. Leaky got some pictures of it that I'll have to post when I get my roll of film back. Then we kinda fished around and I actually found some bedded gills but after deep hooking a couple with nightcrawlers, we passed on that kind of fishing. I went down the outlet and got into some more decent bass but saw rain coming down the mountain so I headed back where we got our fishing gear packed up and then enjoyed another bass and bluegill fish fry. I know the bass fishermen are rolling their eyes and cussing under their breath but the fish sure tasted good. Anyway, I was lucky enough to meet a nice guy named Scott who goes by NGrumm on the board here I believe he said. Scott, very nice to meet and chat with you.... you are only the third BFT person I've met. I've also met Leaky and fished with Tincanfish once. Anyway, it was a nice celebratory fishing trip since I just barely got divorced and I needed a reward for getting it done. Can't think of nicer people to spend my weekend with than Sparky and Leaky. Well, Sparky is a dog but he's good people anyway. [Wink] I did have a tube malfunction though that kept me blowing up my tube every half hour or so... when Leaky refers to sore cheeks, he's not trying to be offensive.... I hope... [cool] But that got a little frustrating... I thought I'd repaired it temporarily with duct tape but then the tape got wet, the air found a way out and I was sunk....almost. The rip is in the seam of the inner tube so if anyone knows a good suggestion for repairing a leak in that area on a float tube, I'd really appreciate some suggestions... It might be as easy as going in or calling the maker and asking for a replacement but I doubt it. Anyway, thats my weekend and I'm sure that Leaky will be able to add some interesting details.... go easy Leaky.... [Wink]

Boy, I've got to make it out to your Lake Q sometime soon. I would be very "Blue" [Wink] if I didn't make it happen.

Glad you had such a great time.

[cool][#0000ff]What kind of material is your air chamber? If it is vinyl or urethane, then Aquaseal will fix it, even if it is an inch or more long. I think we have a couple of threads on that stuff on the float tube board in the Best of the Best collection of past threads. Shoot me a PM if you need some help.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Good luck in your new single status. Better to have loved and lost...far better. Or...A man doesn't know what true happiness is until he's married. But then it is too late.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Seriously, sorry for your turmoil. Hang in there and spend as much time as possible on the water, with good companions, and you will make it just fine.[/#0000ff]

Well,
I had received an e-mail from River that he posted on our trip but didn't go into any detail.[crazy] Wow, I'd hate to read the post if he had.[Smile] He also stole a lot of thunder away that I was going to have fun with. Sore cheeks - think of the fun I could have had with that. I'm going to add just a "little".
River - it was a pleasure as usual. Hope Scott sees this and posts up instead of "lurking". For you catch and release guys, we ate close to 20 bass and blues in 2 nights and enjoyed every minute!!!! The only thing that I regret is giving up some of my Bourbon to him. Oh well, I'm just a giving guy.[Wink]
The only other thing I will add ----, right now, is someone should ask about his knowledge of taking a dump in the provided "container" and what he learned.[sly]
