Me and a few buds, met up at the berry today and had slow success,we launched at the soldier creek side and spread out to find the fish,we found some over on the east shorline in the main bay and had some fun for about an hour, all in the slot, one of the guys kid had a real nice one on but brock the line at the boat,he said it was over 22".We then moved to the narrows and at some lunch,I threw out some small rianbow rapalas and caught another four cutts, that where all in the slot,We didn't bring any home.
Fished the rapala most of the day.
alot of people where catching fish but throwing them back. They where trolling pop gear on top, with wedding rings.

Thanks for the report .Wish I could of went today . I really felt bad to tell a family they had to throw a fish back saturday . I am sure it died anyway . I just informed them what the rules were . Surprised me they had no clue on the regulations . Lots of chubs in the water in the mud line of waves and close to shore . I'm not so sure if the chub numbers are down much with what I saw saturday . Sure could tell when a predator was near by when the chubs were going airborne in groups . Watched a rainbow chase minnows for quite some time right next to the shore . Hooked up on him once but he escaped the hookup . Most people were throwing out to far from shore in my opinion .

I agree with you,The fish seemed to be right next to shore.we did catch some in open water but far a few between. One of the guys had down rigger and was down 20' but only got a few hits.I used a planner board to troll about ten feet of the shoreline and got quite a few hits but they kept getting off.

[green]This is the time of year that chubs spawn in the shallows.
