Jordanelle is still a bit cool and the bite is slow. Chasing the smallies today (floating in tube) I picked up 10 small perch in the Rock Cliff area. Even using perch as a sweetener it remained slow. Don't know about Rockport or Echo.

You are right aquaman, but I didn't catch any. So maybe it's my technique, or the grubs I was using, or they are still in deeper water. The trout liked them, but the bass and perch stayed away. I'll be heading over there again today and try a different location. Hopefully they will be friendly and playful today.

Hey TD I get to Jordanelle often enough to understand the lake (hopefully). I mean it's right up the street kind of like Deer Creek. The water levels are changing daily along with the temps. Fishing the clear water line produced all the trout a man could ask for in an outing. But the bass and perch are hiding presently. Not using the boat limits the water you can cover. And that ole donut of a tube is a mean kicker LOL. Soon as I get the wifeys bills caught up it will be a new floater for me. Now if I can convince her not to make any new ones LOL!
Hey check this out TD I went through one of my dads old tackle boxes the other day. Now this box was his striper box and lots of old striper gear was to be found. But there was a little something else in there. Now I didn't even know my dad bass fished at all.
But I found 3 new Dalton specials, a Helin silver (wood) flatfish, some kind of jitterbug looking lure, a homemade spoon and a couple of other things. What a treasure chest it was, in memories of days on the water with the old man.. Will post some pics later.
