My fishing buddy and our dogs were planning or annual float tube
trip to the "Confluence" of the Gorge for smallies on the 9th. With all the rain and unusually cool weather, we were wondering if it's a little early and would be better to wait another week or 2? Anyone beside UTROB have any first hand info. for smallies anywhere on the Gorge? Any best guesses would also be appreciated![Smile]

There was a bass tournament last weekend while I was at the Gorge. Tons of bass boats at all the local motels. I did not talk to anyone there, but you may want to give the people at the Villa cafe, or the Chevron station there to see if there was any success.

Hey Leaky. I cant testify as to what the Smallie fishing has been like so far this year because I've yet to make the run. But a year ago in middle and late May the Smallies were already hot to play. The weather conditions were much the same as they are now, on again, off again.. I dont think the day time temp got above 65 either weekend we were up there last May, and, we woke up to an inch of snow on the tents one morning.. Fun stuff!

Good luck

[green]I was in the tournament last weekend. The storms of the last week or so have played havoc with the smallies. Last thurs-fri fishing was very tough, on the weekend it got some what better. Males are making the beds. The ladies have yet to make a prolong appearance[/green]
