I hit willard last night as well. Had to try out the new outboard. We fished the south and west sides. Only ended up boating 4 little wipers and lost 3 more. I did have on the best fighting fish I have ever caught out there. I'm assuming it was the 30" wiper that was spoke of last week. ha, ha. I have a med. heavy action rod with 12 lb line and I can usually horse in most of the wipers but this one was taking line like crazy. I had my kids' poles in the water or I would have turned the boat around and went after it. By the time they got their poles and started reeling in I lost it. Maybe I'll get it again this weekend!

All the fish I caught were on the black and silver producer, waaaay behind the boat and around 3.5-4 mph (gps).

Thanks for the reports Travis and Cableguy, I have a feeling the catching will do nothing but improve over the next few days. We had a few of those big boys on during the tournament and they can be a handfull. When they turn sideways they can pull like no other fish around here. After catching a few of the smaller wipers the big ones will sure remind you what they are all about. Since you were catching them at 3.5 to 4 mph, I would guess the water temps have gone up a little?
