My parents-in-law just gave us their old popup tent trailer. I remember hearing mention here on BFT by someone that for boat or utility trailers, if it is under a certain length, you don't have to register it. Is that true? Does it also apply to tent trailers or do I have to register it no matter the length?

Also, does anyone have a link or know where I can look online to see what the law states?

I'm sure you would need to registrator the tent trailer but I have no link to the State site for the rules. Maybe someone else has a link. WH2

Thanks I looked it up on utah.gov. It looks like utility/boat trailers do not need to be registered if the (unburdened) weight is less than 750 lbs. If the trailer (unloaded) weighs over 750 lbs. then it must be registered. It also states, however, that all campers must be registered, and I assume a tent trailer would be classified as a trailer anyway. Thanks for the help anyway, it looks like I'll have to register it.

The good thing is, it should not cost you much to register it, depending on how old it is.
