Tubedude I know you have quite a bit of experiance out of Lindon. Ive been getting most of my cats south of the BH in the reeds this year. Its been starting to die down a bit lately. Have you tried north of the bay in the reeds, Others how about your choice of location ? WIth the Bubble up bairly bubblin at best there doesnt seem to be much around it this year.

I have had most my luck off the north dike fishing between the buoy and the reeds. I have found the farther out towards teh buoy I fish, I catch more muds. In fact all except one channel has been caught on the reed side of the buoy, and that one has been the smallest.

[cool][#0000ff]I take quite a few channels both north and south of the marina. The last few times I have stuck with fishing on the north side, starting about 50 yards past the creek outlet channel. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]There are still some channels to be had fishing in the stickups and next to dense reeds in less than 2 feet of water. However, on our last trip (1 week ago), TubeBabe and I got our fastest action in water between 2.5 and 3.5 feet, out past the reeds and weeds. If we got over about 4 feet we did not get bit. [#0000ff]There is a productive zone that runs all along the north shore, in that depth just offshore from the reeds. We drift or drag carp meat or chub minnows about 50 feet behind our tubes. We let the fish run and then sock it to them. We have not done nearly as well using bobbers.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]We always make a stop at the creek mouth both going out and coming back in. Still some walleyes and white bass in there. However, right now the water coming in from the creek is several degrees cooler than the main lake and the fishing seems to have died off a bit in the creek channel.[/#0000ff]

Have the channel cats started to turn off in the heat of the day yet? I want to take my little girl down tomorrow, but it is hard to get her and her mother moving very early. If they do turn off about what time? When do they pick back up?

Today the bite at LBH shut down about 9 or 930 am. I got one channel 4.25 lbs about 730 on white bass. About 8 got a teaser on a whole shub. At 845 got a 19 inch walleye on carp. Fifteen minutes later the guy next to me got a very small channel using a crawler. That was it for the day - stayed till about 230.

[cool][#0000ff]Hey Bro, the reports from around the lake the past two weeks seem to indicate that it is a "low light bite". Don't know whether it is the moon or the higher water temps, but most catters have commented on the bite increasing in the evening, being good in the early morning and just shutting down by mid morning.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]My wife and I experienced that last week. Started fishing and catching at 7 AM, had 4 each by 8 and then struggled to catch another 2 for her and 4 for me by 9 or so. Then, it did not matter where we dragged our baits or what baits we used, we did not even get another inquiry.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I was down at Lincoln Beach this morning. A boat came in about 10, with two limits of nice channels, all caught between sunup and 8:30. No bites for over an hour after that. Two guys soaking crawlers off the point of the jetty had only one mudder between them at 10, and they started fishing about 8.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Good luck if you can take your daughter out. Be sure to bring the skeeter juice. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Looks like TubeBabe and I are going to hit the water early at LBH on Saturday morning too. Gotta test out some of the carp meat I scored at Lincoln Beach with my bow this morning.[/#0000ff]

Ya, that spot between the boui and the reeds is the best... I coulden't get there wednesday night and was casting on the west side of the boui and got skunked.. The lady that had the boui/reed spot was doing really well.[mad]
That is the same spot I (TRY) to tube.

Me and AnglinAngel hit the bubble up last saturday and boated 14 walleys and probably a dozen chanels. mostly male walleys bout 2 lbs, but the Angel did boat a nice 4.5 pounder. chanels ranged from 2 to 7 lbs. fished with nothing but minnows all day til the wind kicked us off around 5:00 pm. would have loved to stay and keep on yankin, but it was just to rough. we didn't keep any.
