I probably shouldn't be telling my secret because when we were up to Strawberry the other day no one was catching a thing but we were tearing them apart with my buddy aaron's secret lure the black beatle. It submerges about 4 feet and you just wiggle and jig it around and the cutts were hitting it like crazy[
]!!! We landed about twenty four in just under four hours and had a few more get off before we netted them. The secret is to check with Josh or Todd at Sportsmans Warehouse in Midvale and ask them where to find the black beatle. [crazy]

My buddy used to drive a black Beatle. It couldn't catch fish, but the chicks loved it.
This beatle thing a lure, or are we talking about a beatle pattern fly? I bet you can't ride to work in it.

sorry to keep you in suspense but actually it's a lure that the Asians gave me a heads up on. Actually the real name is a beatle spin which are primarily used for walleye, wipers etc, but I went fishing with my buddy arron about a two ice seasons ago up at Strawberry and he had picked up a few beatle spin from Sportsmans. We really caught quite a few and even had a nearby angler come over to check out the action and fell in our hole like a moron!!! I call it a black beatle because I use the black ones and to give another hint to catching those Cutts, top it with a grub or piece of nightcrawler, the will hit it lightly so be prepared!!!

yep, the black one works well, I used the spinner with it, gave it more action. Try to keep it moving up and down and just let it drop down like a wounded minnow. And tipping it with a grub or something entices them all that much more.
Good luck
