We are taking a group of varsity scout to flaming gorge in a few weeks and we are planning a day hike/fishing trip to browne lake a rea and possibly up to tepee lakes. Has anyone ever fished this area that could give some advise as to difficulty of hike and potential fishing possiblities. Any information is greatly appreciated. Chicken.

I have fished Browne a lot. Very good fly fishing morning and evenings. I have hiked part of the Tepee lake trail but not all of it. What I have seen of that trail indicate to me that it would be pretty easy compared to the trails here on the Wasatch.

thanks for the info. i called the manila ranger station to get some information on the area and the lady that answered had never heard of the place. in fact she told me at first that browne lake was in the vernal district. Any way we may have to take our chances and see what we can find. Thanks, Chicken.

I grew up going to Browne and Tepee lakes. That was many years ago and they were fun. Tepee lake was a little but of a hike but not too bad. When I was younger, it was worth it. We caught some pretty big fish up there. Not sure if it is the same, but you will come to a shallow body of water before you get to tepee. Keep going. You will know when you get there. I would love to go back up there. Good luck
