Fished Logan River yesterday afternoon and evening. Had my dad and brother's family with me. We stopped at the first dam just before entering the canyon but it was too hot to want to stay. We drove up three miles to the next dam and found some shade.
The river is still running pretty high and the current (Even with the dam) made for a mess of snags. I had hits on gold panther martins and jake's. Caught a couple of browns on the fly rod while fishing from the boardwalk using en elk hair caddis.
Didn't see a whole lot of surface action and feel lucky to catch what I did.
A few people were getting steady action with burger and/or salmon eggs. They were using heavy sinkers to keep the line out of harms way. Saw some of the albino trout recently planted by the DWR.
Good fishing to everyone this weekend.......[]
