A friend of mine recently came into a used spinning reel that was from a breand that I never heard of before, and had a wierd design. It is a light green color, and is a light-medium action with a max capacity of 105yards of 6lb. test. Jin Yuan is the maker and I am pretty sure it is a Chinese import. The finish is a paint like material. Thge tolerances seem awful on it. He asked me to take a look at it, and after a bunch of tinkering, I was able to make it more reliable. The gearing is CRAP on it. Does anybody know who imported these (to the USA), or where to get replacement parts.
Don't worry: He got it gratuitously![blush]
Also, he would like to know if it would be worthwile to spend the money to have a baitsho pline it (appx. $5) plus the cost of a Wal*Mart rod (maybe $10).
I will relay all replies to my friend (who does not have internet access). He appreciates any and all of your input.
