[Smile] Launched from the S. Marina at 6:00 AM and headed straight for the island. Caught a lot of catfish a week ago. Didn't seem to be much around today. Caught one Kitty a few hundred feet to the north of the island.

Headed to the south west bank. Had a few hits but couldn'd hook anything.

Headed to the feed lot and caught a few Kitties in front of the spot where the dike curves.

Went back to the island about 11:00AM to see if the fish were awake. Caught a few more cats. Ended up with about 8 for the day. I was hoping for walleye. Seems I get one about every 5th trip.

I was using a bottom bouncer with a yellow-green foating beed on one pole and using a waited spinner with a worm on the other. Couldn't get a bite on any rapalla's.

The water was very clear.

The PWCs and the skiers are usally the violaters of the 150 ft rule, but today it was a couple of guys in a big old bass boat who broke the rules. We were Jigging maybe a hundred or so feet away from another boat when this bass boat came full speed and threaded the needle between us.

Heading to Starvation for an overnighter Tue/wed. Does anybody know where some of the good walleye spots are this time of year?

PM Kayote about Starvation. He's from that area and might be able to shed a little light on that lake. About the PWC'ers I forgot to add to my UL post yesterday that I was very pleased with the RPM armada. There were quite a few of them out of Lincoln beach and no one all morning used my pontoon as a racing bouy and they all stayed well out in the lake. I know several of us take issue with the pleasure boaters and for good reason sometimes. I just thought I would mention it when everyone got along.

Thanks for the report Finhunter. I read a post on the DWR site from a tournament walleye fisherman about Willard walleye. He said walleye were not responding to bottom bouncers very good now and he was doing better trolling crankbaits, like deep diving shad raps. The speeds I've had my best luck for the eyes is 1.5 to 2.5 mph. From most reports the catching has been better later in the day.
Curtisfish is another local in the Starvation area that might know a few good places to try at that lake. Good luck and let us know how you do. WH
