Took the wife and the dogs for a nice relaxing weekend up to Trial Lake over the 24th. I haven't seen the lakes up there full for a long time. A word of advice, don't reserve site 7 because the lake has come up so far that the table and fire pit can't be used. The camp hose (Howard) said they just leave it open for fishing parking and stuff if nobody is staying there.
Some @#%! stole my new axe Saturday night so making a fire Sunday took a little longer, and more scout water.
A family lost their keys, and needed help so I offered my assistance any way I could. They didn't have a cell phone, couldn't get a signal up there anyway, so I ran the wife (Nikki) and one of her kids down to Kamas to call and meet someone in Park City to get a spare key. Come to find out, Ed found the key later in the fire pit, oops, but the anti-theft transponder chip was melted completely so the car wouldn't start. So they still needed the spare. I thought my weekend was bad until I talked to them. It was the least I could do.
I've had someone bail me out of a jam before and I can at least keep it going. You have a hard time trusting anybody anymore and I think it's a shame. I think it was the least I could do to show that there still are people out there who can be trusted to help and willing to help. I think most of the people I've talked to here on the BFT would have done the same and no payment is expected in return. It just makes you feel good to help someone out.
Ed is the manager of Bandits, the old Texas Red's in Park City. He said he's trying to learn how to fish and this weekend was a little rough. I'd say. I said check out the BFT so we'll see if he does. If not, I know he'd love to here a hello from anybody here.
