I plan to take my buddy to Willard this weekend so he can get the feeling how the wiper fights . I have not fished at willard since late april so I don't know how and what kind and color lures to use to catch some wiper at this time of the year. Please give me some hint. I appreciate it

You are probably going to get a lot of information here on that subject, as there are many lures that work on the Wipers. I like the Producer Lures, but I find that anything that represents a Shad works well.
My son uses a Rapala Shad Rap chrome with a blue back, he does very well with it. White or Chrome with Black or Blue back is a good choice. Casting or trolling a Chrome Castmaster is another good selection. JMHO

Hi Pat
How are you doing? any fishing trip lately? I just get back from Boston after 3 weeks of vacation up there I stayed a few day at Plum Island and Newbury Port Massachusetts . I have fished a few time at Plum Island for strip bass and blue fish . We catch many fishes but all under size the biggest fish I catch was 24 inches strip bass. Anyway thanks for your tips. I will fish from boat this weekend . You said about fish from shore. I used to fish from shore last couple years by using the 3 inches beetle grub and go 2 mile from the light pole.

If you want to have some fun at walmart there are some cheap brown $1.99 Renegade shad cranks, they have a small lip that dives them about 6-10 feet and from an inside scoop I used these last weekend and had a blast catching multi-species including wipers, channel cats and perch. I also caught wipers on some lipless cranks with browns and blues on them.
From my experience saturday find a boil and cast into them or troll along the edges keeping your floating craft well out of the boil. They were blowing up along the shore lines from 6-8am and it was quick fishing using that brown lure.
I am in no way a wiper expert but these are some things that worked for me.
I will be there on my pontoon Saturday morning bright and early so if you are by the south marina and see a green "fully loaded" pontoon feel free to get my attention and say hello.
