I was headed up to the Cache Valley this weekend and was wondering about how good the little pond of Mantua is doing and where to go and what to use. I have a few little ones going with so i wanted to let them have some fun catching a few bluegills or perch.

You can catch tons of tiny bluegill using just about anything (they were attacking leaves last week). Find a spot close to shore with a little open water above all the weeds. I'm not an expert but would suggest a small piece of worm on a small hook, under a very small bobber.
Do you have a boat?

I appreciate all your help with what to use. I thought that Mantua was artificial lure only, did they change that? I will just be sitting on the side of the pond this time, i would love to get up there in my tube sometime soon.

We went there yesterday and caught a bunch of tiny bluegill, a few bass and a few perch. Our best tackle was a very small fly with a small piece of bacon. They will chase just about anything that moves but they can't get it in their mouths unless it is very small. The biggest we caught was a 8-9" perch but, we caught alot. We threw everything from grubs and jigs to rapalas. Your kids should have a good time fishing from shore. Chicken.
