Say you have a mercruiser i/o and you go fishing. When you get back for some unknown reason you have no power to raise your motor to the up position. You can't trailer your boat with the outdrive down so what would a person do if this happened. Is there a manual way to lift your outdrive?

I had that happen to me last year at the berry, but i was lucky enough to fix it so it would work.My little servo motor unbolted from the area were it connects to lift the out drive ..I was just going to put a heavy rope around my out drive and lift,so i dont know if thats the answer to the problem,I am sure theres a better way..

[cool] if you follow the lines to the pump there is a electric switch you can jumper this to raise the drive mine did this 3 years ago it ended up being a pinched wire when it was dry worked fine when wet it would not work good luck.....

thanks for the tips. I just ask because this almost happened to me but I found a loose connector. Since then I have wondered how I would get it up If I couldn't fix it.
