spent a couple of days up on skyline drive. Started at duck fork and landed several tiger trout 8" to 14", moved to feron with limited sucess, then went to willow lake and we each caught 40-50 fish in a 4 hour period mostly 8"-14" rainbows with a few tigers and cuthroat in the mix including one 16" fat tiger. Then headed back skyline with the intention of hitting huntington, however the road was covered with a major snow drift app.8 mi north of the joesvalley/ephriam canyon turn offs. We then headed back to petes hole for the last couple off hours of light where we found the fishing fast and furious.
While the fish were just average size, it was always fast at all locations, and the scenery is un matched. All fish were caught using a fly and bubble rig, with most flies working (though wolly buggers and stimulators seemed the best)All of the above locations are great places to take kids, tremendous camping, fishing, and wildlife vewing. I would highly recomend them. And best of all their not crowded. Later Lonnie

Great report, Lonnie! I know that area well - it seems to be frequented by locals and not many from very far away. It is so pretty down there this time of year, too. It's too bad all this monsoon moisture has to come in right when I'm ready to head out. There's nothing like setting up camp and having your tent act like a parasail when the microburst thunderstorms hit!!!
