A friend of mine and my brother headed out to a local lake here in SD. We ended up pulling in 9 mooneye (goldeye?) 3 Channel cats and a Northern Pike (16-20 inch)...not bad for SD.
Pictures below. Anyone know if those silver fish are mooneye? They were pretty bony but we got some meat off em.

Hello SDLAKES,
Welcome to the bft message boards.
Can't complain about a day of fishing like that one!!! Pretty good assortment of fish, just curious what type of bait were you running or were you switching it up a bit?

Welcome aboard and thanks for the fishing report. I'm sure you would be glad to share those also on the SD state forum.[cool]
By the way....Nice fish.[

For the mooneye all I used is minnows (medium) also the Pike bit on a minnow. The mooneye seemed to bit better when the minnow was a bit bloody. The Channel catfish were caught with worms with and without corn. Didn't use any crankbait or jigs etc because the live bait was working so well, why change a good thing.
