[Smile]Fished Mill Hollow today with my father and nephew. The fishing was red hot. I spoke with several anglers and NO ONE was getting skunked. The fish were bigger than normal for up there. The tiger trout were pushing 12-13 inches.
I used flies, worms, flatfish, salmon eggs, spinners, powerbait and had success with all of them. Landed dozens of fish!
The campground is closed for the season but there are three porty potties available.
Oh yeah, the stocking truck arrived as we were leaving.
Good fishing.
GREAT PLACE For the kids to catch nice trout. May want to use bobbers, though, as the vegetation is getting thicker.

The campground is closed for the season! This is there season up there. Last year the campground on the top of wolfcreek pass was closed by the bowhunt and now Mill Hollow. I don't really care because I like to camp at primitive sites. But what doid we pay for these sites to be built if they are not going to be open for use. This is why I can't stand bigger and bigger goverment.

I think they are working on the water system and the toilets. This is the only time of year that they can work on the water systems up there.

[#505000]Amen!!! It disturbs me each time I see them take a "primative" lake and start adding plumbing, paved trails, picnic benches, nice potty facilites, pay stations nazi trained camp ground hosts, and then the umpteen million people these "improvements" attract.[/#505000]

[#505000]The big lake at the top of Payson Canyon is a prime example. When I was very little and fished with my dad I remember walking the dirt trail and fishing with maybe half a dozen other people on the lake. Now days your lucky if you can find a spot to fish on some weekends, AND if you are float fishing you just about can't move on the water because of the number of rubber rafts, paddle boats, canoes, toons, tubes, swimmers, ect.....[/#505000]

[#505000]I went to Maple Lake up Payson Canyon tuesday for the first time in 5 years and was not happy to see the "improvements" which have been springing up there too.[/#505000]
