First year float tubing. Purchased an Outcast Super Fat Cat. What a great way to fish. I've only taken it out a few times(6) can't wait to really really take it out on a consistent basis. Still getting it set up figuring out what and what not to bring. I have a small anchor, net, and just ordered a fishin buddie fish finder from cabelas. Any ideas anyone could recommend would be great. Also I live on Long Island anyone out there do any tubing in this area?

[#0000ff]If you go to the first thread at the top..."Best of the Best", scroll down and you will find a lot of links to past threads on adding rod holders, sonars and other "bells and whistles". Also, if you look at the top of the board, you will see a button for "Pictures". That is a separate board for float tubing that has lots of pictures on the different things you are looking for.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I also have a Super Fat Cat, and have made continuous modifications on it over the past two years. Let me know anything specific you want to do and I should be able to help you.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I have spent some time back there. I worked for a company out of New Haven CT and got to check out a lot of areas around the sound. If you watch the weather and the currents, and can find a good place to launch and beach, you can find lots of action on all the species back there. Small stripers and blues are great from float tubes. Also the flounders and porgies. As long as you realize you are in a float tube and not a boat, you can do fine.[/#0000ff]

Welcome aboard mikemac. I have one of the little brothers of the Super Fat Cat. I have the FishCat4. It is also in the Outcast family. It is also a very nice tube and a heck of a lot better than the normal donuts.
We all hope to see some pics of some of your expeditions and your setup as well.[cool]

I'll try. Computer illiterate, never been able to figure out how to post pictures.
I recently added a fishin buddy fish finder. It's not great but at least it shows me depth and water temp which is most important.
