Fished logan river the last 6 days every night catching about 50 fish myself and my friends about 30. We used rapalas, panther martins. We didnt catch too many big ones, the biggest being 15 inches. We hooked some biggers ones but they got off. I was surprised there arent many bigs ones in there. But it was good to fish some different water, kind of tired of the provo. anyone caught any monsters on the Logan?

I grew up in River Heights and used to fish the river all the time from first dam to main street. About 16 - 17 years ago I knew of some kids that caught a brown by main street behind the dominoes pizza that was about 40 inches and went about 25 lbs. They had a story and picture in the Herald Journal about it. They went to have it weighed but it didn't count because they couldn't pull it out of the water and had gotten into the water to retrieve it, and it wasn't an official "catch". They also had already gutted it. Silly kids!

I fish the lower sections of logan river pretty regular. I usually catch fish in the 8-12" range but very seldom do I catch anything bigger. I can go to much smaller streams and catch bigger fish. I can't figure out why I can't catch larger fish on the river. I guess I just don't have the right technique. Chicken.

I have fished the Logan alot the last few years. I caught this one in first dam in January of 04. I was ice fishing. I'm positive that there are bigger ones in there and throughout the river. You just have to luck out.

Welcome to the boards twolves. You might get shot at in JAZZ country with that handle! I haven't fished the Logan except for in the impoundments for many years. But that about the average size fish on the river.

Welcome to the boards cfoodluvr, I remenber that story about those kids as well. There are definitely some big buggers in the rivers. Finding them is one thing and getting them to bite is another.
