Well, not too much to report here. Got on the water about 6:30. While I was setting up small bait fish were surfacing all over the ramp and I got excited thinking that everything might be active and it would be a good fishing day; little did I know that this was the most action I would see all day. Casted inside of the marina for a while, up and down both banks of the channel where I picked up a few walleye last trip and nada. Finally headed out to do a little slow trolling (toon doesn't quit reach the 3mph mark) I graphed tons of fish holding about 4' off the bottom in about 18' of water. Pulled every combination of swim bait, crank bait, and stick bait I had. Weighted some of them, pulled some off a bottom bouncer, pulled crawler harnesses, and drug some stick baits off a weighted 3-way rig; anything I could think of to get the baits down to the fish but no takers all day. In fact I didn't even have a bite all morning. I even drug a little perch meat for a little while to hopefully pickup a little channel to scare the skunk off. Oh well, could have been worse; I could have woke up an hour earlier and driven to work.
Water temp. at launch was 70.5 and got as high as 73. W was a little bit of a problem, not bad, just enough to spin the toon if I wasn't paying attention. Pretty light boat action today and didn't see my first representative from the rmp armada until I entered the marina to leave.
