YFT & Dodo are in the counts for the SanDawg overnight fleet. Also of note is YFT, YT & Dodo for the Mission Belle out of Seaforth Landing. MB is the regular Coronados 3/4 day boat but Capt Ryan WILL fish offshore if the fish are there.
I'll be riding the San Diego on Sunday. Oughta be full contact, bring yer helmet liner combat fishin'![cool]

Had a GREAT day on the water. Beautiful weather & fairly flat sea. Just enough breeze for a good drift.
First pleasant surprise. Only 30 head onboard. Sweet. The San Diego is a big boat & 30 is no problem.
We started the day with limits of quality rockfish (mostly reds) by noon.
Spent the afternoon runnin' & gunnin' around Pukey Point area for YT. Saw LOADS of bait & several schools of large & obviously well fed YT. They would pop up, chase the surface irons for a bit, thumb their noses at us & disappear.
I've seen some reports that the YT are stuffed with small sardines. Maybe a tiny swimbait could be effective. Bet they wouldn't pass up a live squid if they saw one. I didn't think of trying my little pink Braid Slammer, but truth be known, I had chowed down on one of Patty's double bacon cheeseburgers on the ride to the 'nados, I had a full limit of rockfish in the sack, and I was a little lazy.... The fish are there, they're good size. Whoever hits 'em the right time & place is gonna score.
The Mission Belle & San Diego are both out of Seaforth Landing and both are class operations. The MB is a more hardcore fishing platform & the San Diego has the edge in comfort. Both put fish on the deck & both have some of the finest crews yer gonna find anywhere. I highly recommend either of them.
