BOISE, ID—By order of the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (DFG), fish bag, possession and size limits at Idaho's Mountain Home Reservoir have been suspended effective Sept. 1 through Dec. 31. A long-term drought and heavy irrigation is expected to leave the fishery nearly dry by winter and officials want anglers to use remaining fish rather than let them go to waste.
Licensed anglers are encouraged to harvest as many fish from the reservoir as they can eat during this time frame.
In other Idaho news, the DFG is proposing numerous changes to fishing rules throughout the state, and the DFG is asking anglers to weigh in.
