Keeping with the promise I made a few weeks ago that I'd resurrect the topic of fall walleye fishing at Utah Lake soon after Labor Day, I'm here to open the floor to suggestions regarding a potential meeting time and place for BFT's Fall Walleye Seminar.

I know several BFTers initially expressed interest in the idea, and I know TubeDube has preparred a comprehensive writeup on the topic. I am also aware that a few BFTers conveyed their willingness to bring their proven walleye jigs, lures, and tactics for an informative show-and-tell session. These same BFTers recommended that we meet at a location where tackle might be displayed on tables under some good lighting.

Looking at KSL's Web site under the topic of "Weather," it looks like the next several days will bring much cooler temperatures to Utah Valley, which should spark the walleyes' interest in aggressively feeding in shallower water. Am I right?

I've never attended a BFT gathering such as this, so I hesitate being the one to suggest possible meeting locations and times. Additionally, I'm personally looking forward to a couple of upcoming hunting seasons, and with the kids just returning back to school, my time is a bit limited. I'm, therefore, anxious to hear from many of you who have attended similar BFT gatherings as to what locations and times have worked well in the past, given our mutual busy schedules.

I'd love to come to a walleye seminar. I'm kind of new to the area and it's fishing. I'm always looking for information on different methods of catching fish. Just don't schedule it for Sept 17or 18 I will be out of town then! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

I am interested in this. School is currently keeping me busy with night classes but Friday night, Saturday or a Sunday work best for me.

I have spent the past month fishing a little bit at the Provo Harbor. I catch loads of WB and even once hooked up a nice Cut. However the catfish seem to be hiding over here. I am excited to land my first walleye this fall hopefully.

I'll probably spend most of the school year fishing around this neck of the woods due to gas prices and my lack of time which is absorbed into school. But I hope to have this area figured out soon.

I am currently available for the CSDA as long as your meetings don't take up the whole day. I'd prefer to get out and enjoy some of mother nature as opposed to being indoors.

A chance to look and see people's tackle before going out would be great. At the last flotilla a chance to see things set up before going on the water was helpfull in my opinion. Could work more on fishing and not wondering if my set up correct. Meeting a few more people would be nice also.

Ok lets decide on a date, time and place, maybe the first week of Oct. well maybe the second will be better, I just looked at my calender, the first week is the full moon, might be slower fishing. the eyes should be biting by then pretty good. last year I caught them into Nov. Let decide on this and get it going.

Since the date of Oct. 3rd has been proposed, I'll chime in and say that sounds fine with me.

Would everyone please comment as to whether you feel Oct. 3rd is a good date for you. It's a Monday.

If the majority feels like this is a good date, then the next item of business will be to decide on a place. If we could find someplace in north Utah County or close to the Point of the Mountain, then it might mean equal driving time for most of those interested.

Just a thought.

That's cool, gotta cut your loss at a manageble $ instead of unmanageable $$$, or your wife will be your own vulture...[shocked] LOL

At least you had fun while on business...[Smile]

I like the idea and the date. The onsite idea is even better to see how it's really done. I'll be there unless something holds me up. I have an annual state parks pass, is that all it takes to get in to lincoln beach? And make sure you post directions, I have never been to Utah Lake, the closest I've been may be Cabela's.

You won't need your state parks pass for Lincoln. It's free entry year-round. There are directions on the Utah Fishing Holes board, or click [url "http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/gforum/gforum.cgi?post=114484;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread"]here[/url].

I'm sorry, my friend, I did miss your suggestion. That's uncharacteristic of me because I usually peruse each of your posts with a fine-toothed comb just so I don't overlook any useful angling information.[Wink]

The idea of an outdoor gathering next to the water sounds better to me anyhow. It's always nice to see how an idea is put into practice.

So unless I'm completely inept at interpreting our mutual conclusions thus far, our tentative meeting schedule is as follows:

When: Monday, October 3.

Where: Lindon Boat Harbor

Time: Oops, we better figure out this one. How about 6ish?
