DOVER, DE—The Delaware Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced it's investigating three kills of juvenile Atlantic menhaden, an important forage fish, discovered last week in Rehoboth Bay. Low dissolved oxygen is suspected as the cause or a contributing factor in all three kills.
In related news, a yogurt factory discharged 4,000 gallons of cleaning solution and dairy products into the Miami and Erie Canal in western Ohio, killing fish and overwhelming the town's wastewater treatment plant.
