[cool][#0000ff]If anyone is in the shopping phase for buying a new pontoon, I have just completed putting together the pontoon shopping guide over on the Picture Board.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]There are pictures of most of the leading 'toons on the market today, along with basic specs...like sizes, prices, weight capacities, etc. I include links to manufacturers and/or suppliers' websites for each model, as well as a list of links at the front.[/#0000ff]

Good stuff, TubeDude!
Where can I find more info on the bicycle-pedal model? Looks like just the ticket to get me back in the fresh water (lots of it here in FL)!
Thanks,

[cool][#0000ff]Hey Snooker, welcome aboard. What part of the state do you live in, and did you get a lot more "fresh water" from Wilma?[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I have spent quite a bit of time back in your part of the country, having worked for two different companies in Dade County. Between business and fishing, I have covered most of the fresh and salt water areas at one time or t'other.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I love your namesake. It's good to see the snook making a comeback with the new regulations. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Can't help you with a source of supply on the "peddle-toon". You're on your own.[/#0000ff]

Hey Tubedude,
I'm just above Tampa - Pasco County. Did get rain and a little wind from Wilma, but not much, thank God. Nothing like Andrew did when I lived down there in '92! FL has had 8 hurricanes in 15 months - and that will be enough of that!
I'm also glad the snook are coming back - and now that the goliath grouper, aka jewfish, is back strong, it's time for a limited season on them, don't you think?
I'll be looking for more info on the peddle-toon boat and report back if I find something.
Tight lines,
snook.hooker

[cool][#0000ff]The groupers have been as tough to manage as the snook. Between commercial harvest and illegal fishing, they don't stand much of a chance. Spearfishing takes a pretty big toll on them too.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I haven't followed the stats on them. Have they indeed been showing good recruitment?[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I have seen boats keeping everything they catch off some of the wrecks and reefs. It is no wonder the groupers have problems.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Glad you were in an area where the worst of the storm missed you (this time). I spent several months in New Orleans a few years ago and it breaks my heart every time I see coverage of the damage. Some of the little fishing towns I knew have been totally wiped off the face of the earth.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]If we can't find a current manufacturer for the peddle craft, maybe we can team up and fill the void with a new company. There's gotta be a lot of demand for something like that.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]I can't believe it. I tried some search engine stuff, with "peddle pontoons" and then "water bikes" and came up with quite a few sites that sell stuff like that. Here are some links.[/#0000ff]

You did a lot better googling than I did... I think with a little work and help from some friends, I could make one of those...[angelic]
