What where the revisions to Endangered Species Act? I had not seen that they were changed.

TESRA as currently proposed does seem to be a bill that would moderately reduce the effectiveness of the ESA, and as such I am not sure I want it to pass without revision. I also do feel that it is not as bad as liberals and radical environmentalists would have us believe either. TESRA's presence, and support in the House is a sign though that there is widespread resentment and dissatisfaction with the current ESA from many people. I do believe modification of the ESA is a good idea, and maybe a compromise Senate bill will do just that as this hits the Senate for a vote.
W&B, what do you think about it?

I am really not sure what to think...I do believe, however, that the ESA is definitely in need of revision. I do think that TESRA's idea of giving each T&E species its own recovery plan and recovery team is very good. I also like the idea that litigation problems are being addressed by looking at the problems with critical habitat. But, in honesty, I don't know if TESRA has been brought up because of a mad politician who has his own personal agenda (Pombo) or if he really is trying to modify the ESA to help endangered species. Anyway, here is a couple of links to sites with lots of information:

"In honesty, I don't know if TESRA has been brought up because of a mad politician who has his own personal agenda (Pombo)" Agreed, this mans credibility right now is suspect. Also good point on the litigation issue. Ridiculous sums of our tax dollars are spent by the government on frivolous ESA lawsuits submitted by fringe environmental groups. If we could just fix that and nothing else, the ESA would be markedly improved. Thanks for the links too.
