Hit D.C. from 4-7 tonight from shore. Started off really bad. We went to my usuall slaying grounds on the east side. But the smallies didnt email me to tell me they were moving 300 yards south from where they have been the last month. At about 6 we went to another spot south of where we had been fishing about 300 yards. I threw out some powerbait which I have only done 3 times this year. I pretty much an artificial fly and lure only fisherman, so pretty much i was giving up on the smallies and bows. my brother starting chunking out a sinking rapala and the first cast caught a planter bow. I wasnt convinced yet on getting off my lazy ass to put on a rapala. 3 smallies in a row i decided to put on my rapala. 30 minutes later i landed 5 smallies and 3 planter bows. In all we caught 16, 8 smallies 8 trout.
