Hey that trout is hanging by that boulder . Throw him a grasshopper . Keep trying , you will enjoy it . My first was a 6" brookie on a fly rod and I remember it well . Thanks for the pics .

Flyfishing is an art that takes time to figure out. The biggest thing is the flies that match the current conditions. The way I think you should try is to check the reports and check the bottoms of the rocks in the water. This should give you an idea of what to try. Technique is not alway as important. If you know someone who fly fishes regularly that will go with you who is patient enough to help you learn it would be good (experience is always better than trial and error). The first fish I caught fly fishing was a 2" bluegill at mantua. I pulled back to reset and the thing just about hit me in the face, it was actually quite comical.
