Went to bear lake today with FishingPro40. We where at the rock pile at 7:30am. We where marking a lot of fish in 60'-40' of water but all we could get out of them was a few bumps and a couple light tugs. However FishingPro40 did hook up with one that was about 24 inches but he lost him at the boat. At 12:30 we headed over to the east side and fished it untill 4:00, same results a few bumps and a light tug or two.

On the way back over to the State Park Marina we seen a couple fisherman that had ran out of gas and they where trying to paddle back to the state park marina so we gave them a tow.

The weather was great today, an on and off breeze and the temperture felt like it was in the upper 60's.

Mike, sorry to hear that you didn't have better luck. Sounds like you had a great day on the water though. How far away from the marina were those guys who were trying to paddle? Bet they were extremely grateful that you came along when you did.

Not many people where catching them today. I seen acouple different boats catch two or three each and another boat trolling did better that anyone but most boats came up empty handed.

That boat had a bout 1/2 a mile to get to the boat ramp, they said they ran out of gas out in the middle coming from the east side. They where lucky the wind wasn't blowing and all they had was a slight breeze that they had to paddle against.

Thanks for the report Mike, I wonder if the full moon tomorrow has something to do with the slow catching. When we talked to Scott(Bearlakefishguy), he said the catching was hot earlier in the week but slowed down as the Friday approached. I've always heard the catching is poor three days before and three days after a full moon. At least you got your good deed for the week done. This coming weekend should be good as we approach the spawn, I think we have less than a month to go.
