[black]I asked Tom Pettengill, the UDWR Sport Fisheries and Aquatic Education Coordinator, the following question:[/black]
[black][/black]
[black]"Hi Tom,
I have been reading recent reports of huge schools of minnows at Yuba. I have read that, "They do not look like shiners, but they are long and thick, and have real small mouths. They are golden colored but with no lines." Did a bucket biologist introduce golden shiners to Yuba? If not, do you have any idea what they are?
Thanks,
Kent"

[black]Here is Tom's response:[/black]
"I saw some reports also of rainbow trout full of minnows. Not sure what they are. Small Utah chubs look like that and so do leatherside chubs but the leathersides are fairly rare. There could be lots of small carp but not sure what body shape the minnows are that guys are seeing. I sure hope no body put golden shiners in Yuba."
