Water clear; 69 degrees; 907' (2' low):

Bass are beginning to migrate into bays following shad toward flats leading to feeder creeks. Expect to see schooling activity in these areas sooner, rather than later. Best lure choices are going to be Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps, Terminator spinnerbaits/buzzbaits, shad-imitating swim baits like Creme Lures' 2" Spoiler Shad worked along the breaklines of flats leading to creeks. But currently...

Largemouth to 5 lbs are very good on windy mainlake points and in timber 5'-12' deep on pumpkinseed 4" rootbeer JDC Strike Grubs, Texas rigged pumpkin Ring Worms, watermelon-red Whacky Sticks on jigheads and banging white crankbaits into stumps in 4'-8' of water. Upriver, numbers and size of bass are better. The topwater bite has improved a lot so try a popper like a watermelon or pumpkin JDC Skip-N-Pop/Pop R, Tiny-T buzzbaits, 4" or 5" Whacky Sticks, 6"
Scoundrel worms and of course, a 1/4 oz. white-chartreuse
spinnerbait. The shaded bluffs produce working 3" or 5"
JDC Craws and black-blue Texas rigged Scoundrel worms parallel and down the ledges.
Smallmouth are good to 4 lbs. over rock piles and along bluff ledges in 4'-15' using Rat-L-Traps, 3/16 oz. pumpkin Terminator jigs w/Smokin' Green Devil's Tongue for a trailer and pumpkin seed 5" JDC Drop Shot Worms on drop shot rigs.
Stripers are slow moving up the water column following shad coming shallower. Surface feeding action will begin as the water temperature drops and stays in the lower 60's. When it does, try white or Albino Snap Back soft jerkbaits rigged on a weighted 5/0 Bait Jerker Hook by Falcon Lures, Zara Spook/Pencil Poppers or Rattlin' Rogues and vertically
jig a 1/2-1 oz. Pirk Minnow, or simply drift live bait through the schools.
White Bass remain slow but are beginning to schools along deep mainlake points on the south side of the lake from midlake to the dam.
Crappie are improving in the river on minnows and white crappie jigs.
