BRANSON, MO—Missouri angler Rick Osborn was fishing Lake Taneycomo earlier this month when he landed a new state-record brown trout.
A state official certified the fish's species and weight at 27 pounds, 10 ounces. It measures 38.5 inches from its nose to the tip of its tail.
Osborn's fish edged out Missouri's previous state-record brown, another Taneycomo fish, by a mere 2 ounces. That trout held the state title for less than three months before being unseated by Osborn.
