After several days sitting on my but on the Refuge with no luck, decided to go to the Web. (my little club property), and do a combo. Had to check my zero setting on my blunderbus for the up coming late season deer, try a little fishing and maybe shoot some duckies. Well, my zero was 1 in. to the left and 1 1/2 in. low at a 100, easily corrected.
Best part - Sparky finally got to fetch some duckies 4 drake and 1 hen mallard, yum yum. I love stalking and jump shooting.
Pheasant opens tomorrow, now that I got my duckies, don't know if I will go and put up with the "war". Sparky sure would like to retrieve a pheasant though, we'll see. They have such a birdy scent and get a dog going so goooooood Man, for a geezer in his 70's he sure is doing his best to keep me young. Much, much thanks Sparky The whities wouldn't touch what I offered but caught some browns. Any suggestions? Would prefer to keep the whities and let the browns go. Water crystal clear. Some very big guys.[shocked] You could tell the browns with the white in their big mouths. One brown caught was 17 1/2 incher. Lost a monster in the weeds, much fun. Sparky tried to help me catch em as usual but has learned to stay away until landed. All in all a full day. I'll have to do it again. Leaky

I've had good sucess in the past with size 16 and 18 scuds for the whities. Have Fished a river all year though. Wow whats wrong with me. I better do something about that.
