Fished the Berry today with Kentofnsl,Fishound and Tincanfish. Left home at 5:00am once I got to Weber Canyon it started snowing, it was near a white out, when I got to the I-80/I-84 junction the snow had finnally stoped. Got to strawberry about 7:20, the ramp was iced up alittle but we where still able to launch. Started vertical jigging just a round the corner from the baot ramp as you head towards mudcreek in 22'-25' of water, we picked up about 20 fish in that area, could of been more. One was a nice 21.5" bow plus another bow that was about 12". When the catching nearly shut down in that area we headed over to the bay just outside of mudcreek. The fishing started out a little slow in this area but after moving around a little we started to get into them in 22'-28' of water. Combined total of all four of us was around 90 maybe 100 could of been more. I caught a 23.5" and a 22" cutt plus the 21.5" 4 pound rainbow.

I saw you at the ramp (I think I visited with you for a second), I was the in the lifted white F-150 with the black/silver Alumacraft behind it - second down the ramp. Good to put a name (albeit screen name) with a face. Well done today, I guess I should've toughed it out another hour or two.

Looks like a lot of fun. Those are some sweet fish. Did the weather stay good for you for the day? It was on and off snow pellets/rain down in the valley for most of the morning.

Besides the wind blowing for the first 7 hours it stayed cloudy. It did not rain or snow after 7:00am.

At least you could stay reasonably dry, as wet and windy is a bad combination.

Mike, another great day on the pond and a ton of fish with some real beauties! When I saw your post a few days back requesting company on your trip i wanted to go but already had a pheasant hunting trip planned with my dad. But would still love to go and learn from the master before the ice caps over. Let me know if you need an anchor man.

Thanx MGB, Great day on the water ! I can't tell how many fish we caught, but, it was a whole bunch ! I think however, MGB might have underestimated the total - by a fair amount. He is a jigging and catching machine !
The weather started out cold and windy and stayed that way most of the day - it did calm down some in the afternoon. Nevertheless, we stayed pretty warm by catching lot's of fish. There were a few moments here and there that the catching was slower, but, they were sporadic and well spaced.
Interesting observations during the day on a couple of the fish: One of the fish we caught had no left side pectoral fin, and one had neither left nor right pectoral fins - but, both fish were pretty good sized fish.
I brought my camera with, but I completely spaced taking any pictures - at least MGB had the presence of mind to take a few photos of the trip.
Thanx again MGB ! Anytime you want some company on the water - either liquid or solid - let me know !

I have never seen anyone reel in trout in the quantity that MGB does! It is truly amazing to watch how quickly Mike can drop a jig, get a bite and reel in another fish. Someday I hope to compete, but until then I will just admire and be jealous.

I want to get my pontoon kick boat up to the berry a couple more times before ice comes on. Any suggestions from you, the obvious King of jigging, where I could go with a kick boat and how to catch them using your color and style of jigging? I am mostly a fly man at the berry, but would love to try the jigging you have mastered. If you have time, let me know what you would suggest.
